Accessibility Statement
Last updated: January 1, 2026
Internet Solitaire is committed to ensuring our games and website are accessible to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities.
Our Commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility Features
Visual
- Responsive design — The game scales appropriately from mobile phones to large desktop monitors
- Reduced motion support — All animations are disabled when the
prefers-reduced-motionsystem preference is enabled - High contrast — Card faces use high-contrast colors (black and red on white) for readability
- Scalable text — Page text scales with browser font size settings
- Color is not the only indicator — Suit symbols are displayed alongside colors to distinguish hearts/diamonds from clubs/spades
Motor
- Large touch targets — Buttons and interactive elements meet the 44×44px minimum recommended touch target size on mobile
- Drag and drop alternatives — Cards can be moved by clicking/tapping (auto-move) as an alternative to drag and drop
- Touch gesture support — Double-tap and long-press gestures are supported for common actions
Cognitive
- Hint system — Visual hints are available for players who want move suggestions
- Undo — All moves can be undone, removing the pressure of irreversible mistakes
- Auto-complete — The game completes itself when the outcome is certain, reducing repetitive clicking
- Clear visual feedback — Cards animate smoothly to their destinations to make game state changes easy to follow
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas where we are still working to improve accessibility:
- Keyboard navigation — Full keyboard-based gameplay (moving cards without a mouse or touch) is not yet implemented. We intend to add this in a future update.
- Screen reader support — The game board is not yet fully described for screen readers. Card positions and game state are not announced. This is a known gap we plan to address.
- Focus indicators — Focus ring styles may not be visible enough in all themes.
European Accessibility Act
We are committed to meeting the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which applies to digital services from June 2025. We are actively working to address known gaps identified above.
