Pyramid is a fast, simple solitaire game built around one rule: clear the triangle by removing pairs of cards that add up to 13. No suits, no sequences to build — just a satisfying puzzle of finding matches as more of the pyramid opens up.
Quick Instructions
- Clear all 28 cards from the pyramid to win.
- Click two exposed cards whose ranks add up to 13 to remove them (Ace = 1, Jack = 11, Queen = 12).
- A King is worth 13 on its own — click it alone to remove it.
- Only uncovered (exposed) cards can be matched — a card is exposed once the two cards resting on it are gone.
- Click the stock pile to deal a card to the waste pile — its top card can match the pyramid too.
- Made a mistake? Hit Undo to take back your last move.
- Stuck? Press Hint and the game will highlight a valid match for you.
How to Play Pyramid Solitaire
The goal is to clear every card out of the seven-row pyramid.
Game Setup
- The Pyramid: 28 cards dealt in a triangle — one card in the top row, growing to seven cards in the bottom row. Each card rests on top of the two cards below it.
- Stock Pile: The remaining 24 cards form the stock, dealt one at a time to the waste pile.
Rules and Moves
- Exposed cards: A card is exposed — and clickable — once both cards it rests on have been removed. The bottom row starts fully exposed; the rest of the pyramid uncovers as you clear cards away.
- Matching pairs: Click any two exposed cards (from the pyramid, or the top card of the waste pile) whose ranks add up to 13. Ace counts as 1, Jack as 11, Queen as 12.
- Kings: A King is worth 13 by itself, so it's removed with a single click — no partner needed.
- Dealing: Click the stock pile to turn over the next card to the waste pile. Its top card is always available to match against the pyramid.
- Recycling: Once the stock runs out, click it again to shuffle the waste pile back into the stock — you can recycle as many times as you need.
Pyramid Solitaire Strategy Tips
- Clear rows methodically: Working from the bottom row up keeps more of the pyramid exposed at once, giving you more possible matches.
- Don't rush the stock: Every card you deal becomes the only waste card you can match — think about what it pairs with before dealing the next one.
- Watch for Kings: They're free removals whenever they're exposed, so take them as soon as you can.
- Track what's left: As fewer ranks remain in play, matches get harder to find — plan a few moves ahead when the pyramid thins out.
